Materials Required:

  • PPE (Rubber Gloves, Apron)

  • Dry Cloth

  • Warm Water

  • Grill Scraper

  • Green Scourer

  • Suma Envy - Oven Cleaner

  • Suma Light - Detergent

  • White Vinegar

  • Oil

  • Paper Towel

Daily Cleaning Procedures:

  1. Ensure grill and gas supply has been turned off before starting any cleaning procedures.

  2. Take out the spill trays and dispose of any residue and grease. Clean the spill trays with warm soapy water (Suma Light) and a damp cloth, then dry thoroughly.

  3. Use the grill scraper to remove any carbon and grease build up from the grill plate. Ensure that when you use the scraper tool, pressure is applied evenly over the grill plate. This will help prevent any scoring of the plate surface.

  4. Pour Suma Envy over grill and let sit for 5-10 minutes. Ensure you get the sides and back splash.

  5. Get a bucket of warm soapy water (Suma Light) and a green scourer and use scrapper to press scourer into grill, removing grease and grime.

  6. Depending on how much carbon build up is on your grill, you may need to repeat step 4 & 5.

  7. Carefully pour water over grill to wash away chemical. Use grill scraper to remove any excess grime left on the grill.

  8. Carefully wipe the grill plate and sides of the grill down with a damp cloth and warm water. This is to remove any excess residue and carbon. Once you have wiped the grill down then you will need to dry thoroughly with a clean cloth.

  9. Use White Vinegar to thorourly coat the grill, using a clean scraper to cover all areas. Wipe off any excess so that it dries.

  10. Using paper towel, wipe oil over grill to seal.

NOTE: The spill trays on the grill should be emptied frequently and throughout the day to avoid spillage and overflow.

CAUTION: The grill plate surface, sides of grill and spill trays will be hot during service. Ensure to take care when removing the spill trays throughout the day to clean.

ALWAYS:

  • Ensure the grill has cooled down before starting any cleaning procedures.

  • Ensure you wear the correct PPE and follow the manufacturers recommendations for chemical use, dilution, handling, disposal, and PPE.

  • Ask for help if you’re unsure

  • Make sure the gas has been turned off before starting any cleaning procedures

NEVER:

  • Use any abrasive objects to clean the grill plate such as steel wool. Doing so will cause damage to the grill plate.

  • Do not use any caustic cleaning chemicals as these can potentially damage and corrode the grill plate.
