What is an NTD?
A Network Termination Device (NTD) is a customer-side network interface device used by the Australian National Broadband Network (NBN). Network termination devices provide multiple bridges for customers to access the NBN.
Instructions
This article is to serve as a guide on how to locate the NTD (Network Termination Device) as well as the serial number of the device when requested by Cyber CX and Minor DKL. This is important data that Cyber CX need to relay to NBN.
You'll see a barcode sticker on the right-hand side of the box after removing the cover. The number next to S/N is the Connection Box's Serial Number, as shown below.

1 | Finding the NTDThe device is located against a wall alongside a power supply. This is usually located near the network cabinet. | |
2 | Locating the cover clipsThere are two clips at the bottom of the cover to hold it in place. Locate the clips at the bottom of the NTD (A) and move on to Step 3. | |
3 | Lifting the coverUpon finding the device, which looks like the image above, it should have a cover on it which can be lifted up from the bottom, much like a garage door. Press the two clips (A) to release the cover. Lift the cover at an angle to remove it (B). Lift the cover and remove it from the NTD. |

4 | DO NOT TOUCH!Do not, by any means, touch any of the cables behind the cover. The cables are delicate and if moved or damaged, could bring down the Stores network. | |
5 | Location of Serial NumberYou'll see a barcode sticker on the bottom right-hand side of the box. The number next to S/N is the Connection Box's Serial Number, as shown to the right. |

6 | Take a photoTake a photo of the entire sticker. Please ensure that the numbers are legible in the photo even after zooming in. Attached the photo to the Jira ticket requesting the NTD or email the photo to support@minordkl.com.au and reference the Jira ticket number. | |
7 | Re-attached the CoverRe-attach the Cover by lowering it down onto the NTD and closing it in the same way it was opened. Once properly closed, the clips should click in place. |
