PUQ Press Operating and Cleaning Procedures

Daily Operating Procedures

Complete coffee machine opening procedures and ensure PUQ press is plugged in, and power is on.

Follow dosing procedure and load group handle with 21.8-22.2g of dose.

Using your distribution tool spin 3 times in a clockwise direction to ensure the coffee grind is distributed evenly in group handle.

Place group handle into PUQ Press cradle. Once placed under the tamper the PUQ press will automatically tamp the set amount of pressure into the filter basket.

CAUTION: Moving Parts

Ensure tamp is level and even and wipe edges of filter basket to ensure there is no excess grind.

Complete extraction routine.

NOTE: Ensure that during service the tamper cavity area is being cleaned with your pallo brush or a dry cloth to avoid any excess grind build up.

Daily Cleaning Procedures

To be completed at the end of each shift as part of your closing procedures. It is also recommended to complete each hour during service or when necessary.

Press clean button as pictured.

The tamp head will then lower down.

CAUTION: Moving Parts

Clean any excess grind off with your coffee pallo brush.

Press clean button and the tamp head will move back into place.

Weekly Cleaning Procedures

Press the cleaning button and the tamp head will lower down.

CAUTION: Moving Parts

Turn the Mythos grinder 90 degrees as pictured and ensure it is sitting securely.

 It is recommended that two people move the Mythos grinder to avoid injury or breakage.

Unscrew the bolt by turning counter-clockwise.

Remove tamper by turning from left to right until the tamper comes out.

Clean off any excess grind that may have built up on the tamper and inside the tamp cavity.

Place tamper back into tamp cavity and turn in a clockwise direction ensuring it is secure.

Press the cleaning button and the tamp head will move back into place.

CAUTION: Moving Parts

Turn the Mythos grinder back into the correct position ensuring that the grinder cable is sitting securely in the PUQ Press cavity as pictured.

NOTE: To complete the weekly cleaning you will need your Allen key tool (pictured below) that was provided with your PUQ Press.

Ground coffee sticks to the tamp disk, resulting in uneven tamp

The tamp disk is dirty or wet. Can be caused by purging steam wands on coffee machine down into PUQ Press area

Use the cleaning function & clean with grinder brush, or turn off unit and dry with dry towel

CAUTION: Moving parts. Never use your hands to touch the tamp disk while unit is on

 

 

Unit does not turn on

Power cord has potentially come out

 

 

Team are not completing PUQ Press weekly clean

Check power outlet. If no visible problem, reach out to FBC to troubleshoot

 

Follow guide in the table above to complete weekly clean, ensuring it is completed consistently
