Vitamix Blender Cleaning and Operating Procedures

The Quiet One

Settings

Button 3: Frappes, Smoothies

Button 4: Milkshakes, Thickshake

Important

Do not pass the blender through the dishwasher. The heat weakens the plastic causing it to shatter if dropped. If using a spoon to assist in serving a frappe mix, make sure that it is removed before making another frappe.

Operation

  1. Place the jug onto the base of the blender. Check lid is securely in place

  2. Check the timer is set on 15 seconds

  3. Start blender by selecting the desired button for what you’re making

  4. Remove the jug by lifting off. Ensure the blender has completely stopped before removing the jug to avoid damage to the spinning cog.

Cleaning

During service:

  1. Rinse the entire jug, including lid, with a mix of warm water and chemical sanitiser

  2. Rinse the entire jug, including lid, for a second time with cold water

At end of trade:

  1. Clean the jug thoroughly with detergent and warm water, and then spray with sanitiser

  2. Wipe the base of the blender with a damp sanitised cloth to remove any milk splashes or build up

  3. Allow to air dry

Once a week:

Remove cover door:

  1. The cover door can be removed by opening it until the door is horizontal. Then gently spread the sides of the door over the round hinges and remove

  2. To reinstall the cover door, gently spread the sides of the door and place the door hinge cutouts over the round hinges

Remove back cover (sound enclosure):

  1. First ensure that the blender is turned off

  2. Grasp the enclosure with both hands

  3. Tilt slightly back and pull the enclosure straight up. (Figure B)This can sometimes be a tad tough so use caution

  4. To reinstall, align the opening in the base plate over the back cover (Figure C)

  5. Start on one side of the centering pad and slowly lay the back cover into position ensuring that the sound dampening pad is not pinched by any portion of the base plate

Disassemble:

  1. Use a damp cloth and All Purpose Cleaner to clean each part

  2. Do not put back together without drying first

  3. This should be completed once a week to maintain cleanliness and reduce odour
