Home Screen Functions There are four (4) functions located on the home screen. Defrost This function is used when removing an unopened frozen item from the freezer to defrost in the fridge in its original package e.g. smoked salmon, sandwich steak and calamari. Once these items are opened and prepped or down packed into new containers, they must be relabeled using their corresponding label located in the ‘USE-BY’ function. Use By All other items excluding those listed above use this function to create their label. General Labels This function is used to create and print ‘one off ’ labels e.g. for frozen items that have been portioned and kept frozen and need to be relabeled with their original manufactures use by, ‘Use First’, ‘Catering’ or ‘Rejected – Do Not Use’ labels Custom Labels There is currently only two options available in this function. The label shown can be used for take away or delivery orders. Settings This function is where you set your label printer up and where you go into to refresh your label data when changes have been made.
Using the Defrost Function Select the item from the ‘DEFROST’ function screen. Select your ‘Clerk’ button, Select the number of labels required, The printer will produce a label identifying; a. (OOF) - the date and time the item was removed from the freezer for defrosting, OOF = Out of Freezer. b. (PREP BY) - The date the item must be prepped by to obtain its maximum use by. The ‘PREP BY’ in NOT the use by date. This is the date by which the item should be removed from the package and prepped. This will ensure the item achieves its full opened or prepped use by date when relabeling using the ‘USE BY’ function i.e. has 2 days once prepped.

Batch Code Entry Selected ingredients have the ability to enter the ‘Batch’ code of the ingredient to the label. This function has been applied to items which may be removed from their original packaging i.e. VMC lines, salmon, meats etc. This function can assist in retaining the batch code from the original packaging after it has been disposed of, for instance when the ingredient has been down packed. It is optional to include the ingredient batch code information when creating the required labels.
Using the ‘Use By’ Function When using this function to label items that require a set defrosting time i.e. 24 hours, the APP will ask the user to enter the date and time the item was originally removed from the freezer for defrosting. This information is found on the original ‘THAWING’ label that was applied to the item when removed from the freeze. If the item you are preparing requires defrosting before it can be used, the APP will ask the user to “Enter date and time removed from freezer (OOF)”. To enter the corresponding date and time, tap on the date onscreen. This will open the calendar window. Select the (OOF) date as indicated on the “THAWING” label. Repeat above step for the time the item was removed from the freezer. Once you have entered to correct date and time tap the ‘OK’ button to create label. NOTE – the OOF date entered must always be equal to or greater than the items required defrosting time. If it is not the APP will not allow you to print a ‘USE BY’ label.
Using the General Labels Function This function can be used to create one off labels. There are two labels types that can be created, the ‘Simple Label’ function allows the creation of a text only label, where the ‘Smart Label’ function provides the ability to include a date and time. This type of label can be used for instance when labeling a catering order or preordered takeaway for pick up. | Simple Label - Smart Label - |
